Only an hour from Charleston, the park also offers another campground deep in the maritime forest full of live oaks and some of the state’s tallest palmetto trees, as well as a row of comfortable cabins nestled in the woods but with a front-row view of miles of pristine ...
Beautiful Edisto Beach State Park is located on the coast near the town of Edisto Beach. In 1935, the land was donated by the Edisto Company. The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) buildings remain on the property today, and some are currently in use.
There are five beach front camp sites in Edisto Beach State Park. These sites are separated from the beach by sand dunes and vegetation which provide a nice buffered camp site for most of the sites. Sites 1 and 3 are my favorites, but they are usually reserved far in advance (at least a couple of months).
Seven completely furnished cabins are available for your stay at Edisto Beach State Park. Located on the edge of the salt marsh, the cabins are 1.5 miles from the ocean. A short walk up Cabin Road, you'll find access to the Edisto Beach State Park Trails, the state's longest system of wheelchair accessible hiking and biking trails.
Edisto Beach State Park on Highway 174 in Edisto Beach is a beautiful and well maintained state park that is fun to visit and experience. I like that the park has a beachfront area that you can experience the ocean in a comfortable area and I also like that there is a separate area for trails and hiking that you can be in quiet and nature.
